Sustainable material for your space

Sustainable material for your space

Kerrock is widely used in construction and design due to its sustainable properties. It is a durable material suitable for a variety of sustainable projects as it allows for long-term use and reduces environmental impact.

Environmentally friendly and sustainable

Kerrock is made with ecological responsibility in mind. Its production incorporates advanced technologies that reduce the impact on the environment. The material is recyclable and contains no harmful substances, making it safe for use indoors and in direct contact with food. It also boasts RECYCLED CONTENT certification, which certifies its sustainability.

Kerrock has also obtained several important certifications attesting to its sustainability and quality:

  • Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) – provides transparent information on the environmental impact of a product throughout its life cycle.
  • Antibacterial effectiveness –demonstrates the material’s resistance to bacteria, increasing hygiene and safety.
  • VOC (volatile organic compounds) EMISSIONS – confirms low emissions of pollutants, thus improving indoor air quality.
  • LEED – contributes to achieving sustainability standards and points in the Green Building Scheme.

Kerrock recycled colours

Four recycled colours are available for sustainable projects:

  • 1080 Brilliante,
  • 9257 Snowfall,
  • N 1258 Iceberg,
  • N 9259 Graywacke.

We recycle leftover Kerrock material to make new sheets and other products. At Kolpa, we mill, screen and use the waste offcuts of certain colours for recycled Kerrock sheets, which reduces the carbon footprint without affecting quality. The RECYCLED CONTENT certificate confirms our ecological orientation. Recycled Kerrock sheets contain a minimum of 8% recycled content, in accordance with ISO 14021, making them an environmentally friendly choice in a wide range of projects. These colours contain at least 8% recycled materials and meet ISO 14021 standards, further confirming their suitability for environmentally responsible projects.

Long life and easy maintenance

Kerrock has a high resistance to mechanical damage, chemicals and weathering, ensuring a long service life and reducing the need for frequent replacements. The non-porous and smooth surface makes cleaning easy, as the use of mild detergents and a small amount of water is sufficient. This not only facilitates maintenance but also helps to reduce the environmental impact. Kerrock thus remains aesthetically refined and functional over years of use.

Use in different projects

Due to its durability, aesthetic flexibility and ease of maintenance, Kerrock is used in a wide range of industries such as architecture, interior design, hospitality, healthcare, shipbuilding, public and commercial spaces. Its resistance to moisture, temperature changes and mechanical damage allows for a wide range of applications – from elegant kitchen and bathroom counters to facade cladding, furniture and medical and laboratory equipment.

Its exceptional flexibility allows the design of unique, ergonomic and innovative solutions that meet both functional and environmental requirements. Kerrock’s recyclability contributes to sustainable development and a reduced carbon footprint, making it an excellent choice for a variety of projects.

Why Kerrock Eco?

  • Kerrock material is suitable for contact with food and can be 100% recycled.
  • Kerrock is a material with an extremely long service life.
  • Larger objects made of Kerrock (facades, cladding) are easily transformed into different products, furniture.
  • Kerrock is made of raw materials from the nearest local sources, thereby reducing the impact on the environment.
  • The adhesive used in glueing Kerrock products hardens completely and therefore does not release any volatile organic compounds at the end user.
  • Kerrock products are extremely suitable for indoor use as they do not affect health in any way – this has also been confirmed by independent testing (Report No. 2F000828, RI.SE).
  • The composition of the Kerrock complies with the REACH directive, which ensures that the material does not contain any substances of concern.
  • Kerrock does not contain phthalates, heavy metals, chromium (VI) compounds or other carcinogens.
  • Kerrock sheets are self-extinguishing and do not emit toxic gases in case of contact with fire (Report No. 2011-1241-1, EXOVA Warringtonfire).
