We are pleased to announce that Kerrock has received the prestigious Finnish Emission Class M1 certificate, awarded by the renowned institution Rakennustieto Oy. The certificate confirms exceptionally low emissions from materials used in indoor spaces and represents one of the strictest standards in the field of indoor air quality.
The M1 certificate, or Emission Classification of Building Materials, evaluates emissions of:
Kerrock has received the highest classification – Emission Class M1 – which represents independent confirmation that Kerrock ranks among the highest-quality composite materials in terms of emissions into indoor air.
The Swedish accredited laboratory RISE Research Institutes of Sweden carried out extensive testing of volatile organic compound emissions on Kerrock sheets in accordance with the protoco «M1 Emission Classification of Building Materials: Protocol for Chemical and Sensory Testing of Building Materials, ver. 18. 6. 2024». The testing included measurements of VOC emissions, formaldehyde, ammonia, volatile carcinogenic substances, as well as a sensory assessment of the material’s acceptability.
The results showed that emissions from Kerrock material are significantly below the permitted limit values, while carcinogenic substances were not detected. Based on the testing carried out, Kerrock meets the requirements for the highest M1 classification.
Obtaining the M1 certificate is another important confirmation that Kerrock combines:
The M1 mark may also be used for marketing purposes and can be printed or applied directly to Kerrock sheets.
